The problem with high ISO and feathers in your face

Hocus PocusHaving not the great privilege of being able to afford the best cameras with the best sensors (Nikon D700), I have – as I’m sure thousands of others – a problem with very high ISO images on my Nikon D80. Its not the noise levels. In fact, I like noise (“grain” sound better?). Its the crappy colour! The only way that it works for me is if I convert the image to black and white and set the contrast to max.

Full disclosure here: I swapped the guys head in this image with a better one. He looked like a complete ‘tard in the original. You know the look. The look you get when a white dove flaps its wings in very close proximity to your face.
